THE MEZCAL LIBRARY is the passion project of Edmundo Lozada and Bernie William, two friends united by their love for mezcal and Oaxacan culture. Edmundo, a native of Oaxaca, grew up surrounded by the rich tradition of mezcal and Oaxacan hospitality. His earliest memories of mezcal are intertwined with visits to his family's ranch near Ocotlán and festive gatherings where large clay dishes filled with food were accompanied by copitas of mezcal, purchased directly from local producers in reusable plastic or black clay jugs.
In New Orleans, Edmundo met Bernie, with whom he shared his passion for mezcal. Together, they decided to create a space where they could share their love for mezcal and Oaxacan culture with the New Orleans community. THE MEZCAL LIBRARY is the result of that passion and friendship.
Their goal is to offer a carefully curated selection of artisanal mezcals, accompanied by a unique and authentic experience. Edmundo and Bernie are committed to supporting local producers and preserving the tradition of mezcal, while providing a memorable experience for their customers.
